From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Design is the planning that lays the basis for the making of every object or system. It can be used both as a noun and as a verb and, in a broader way, it means applied arts and engineering (See design disciplines below). As a verb, "to design" refers to the process of originating and developing a plan for a product, structure, system, or component with intention. As a noun, "a design" is used for either the final (solution) plan (e.g. proposal, drawing, model, description) or the result of implementing that plan in the form of the final product of a design process. This classification aside, in its broadest sense no other limitations exist and the final product can be anything from clothing to graphical user interfaces to skyscrapers. Even virtual concepts such as corporate identity and cultural traditions such as celebration of certain holidays are sometimes designed. More recently, processes (in general) have also been treated as products of design, giving new meaning to the term process design. The person designing is called a designer, which is also a term used for people who work professionally in one of the various design areas, usually also specifying which area is being dealt with (such as a fashion designer, concept designer or web designer). Designing often requires a designer to consider the aesthetic, functional, and many other aspects of an object or a process, which usually requires considerable research, thought, modeling, interactive adjustment, and re-design. With such a broad definition, there is no universal language or unifying institution for designers of all disciplines. This allows for many differing philosophies and approaches toward the subject. However, serious study of design demands increased focus on the design process. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License How to design an experiment for these questions? Q. 1) Is carbon dioxide needed for photosynthesis? 2) Do plants need chlorophyll for photosynthesis? 3) If a plant leaf i covered, will the leaf still photosynthesise? 4) Determine the best light (colour or intensity) for photosynthesis. 6) Design an experiment that would show the effect of a mineral deficiency on a plant. 7) Design an experiment that would show the amount of a mineral needed by a plant. 8) Design an experiment to compare the growth of seedlings in various nutrients. I would be grateful if you could answer any of the above. Asked by MidnightDoll - Sun Nov 8 02:39:49 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. 1) Carbon dioxide is essential for photosynthesis because they need the carbon/oxygen molecules in order to create glucose - C6H12O6 2) Chlorophyll is also needed because it's the light absorption substance 3) No the plant will not continue to undergo photosynthesis, because the plant's primary respiration and light absorption is in the leaves 4) In previous experiments, I found that the light with all wave frequencies maximizes plant growth(white). But, if I were to pick a single color, it would be violet, as it has the highest wave frequency, thus producing the most energy, also enhances its piercing ability. 6) Have 9 plants set up in 3 different mineral concentrated soil. 3 in a nutrient rich spoil, 3 in a medium nutrient pool, and 3… [cont.] Answered by CandyMama491 - Sun Nov 8 03:14:40 2009 What are realy good fashion design universities in California? Q. I'm planning to transfer to a fashion design university in California and I've been researching but the ones that I've found aren't up to par. Please provide me with schools that have outstanding curriculum and that focus on all aspects of design such as designing, marketing, and business. I know that the Art Institutes do this but I've priced them and it would cost about $80,000 for 3 years. Asked by Elizabeth H - Tue Nov 3 14:51:35 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. The AI chain of schools doesn't have a good rep in the industry. FIDM, which is big and popular, also has a poor rep. The best fashion design program in CA is at Otis College of Art, in Los Angeles. Answered by RoaringMice - Tue Nov 3 15:01:37 2009 What design can you make out of multiple small shapes that are the same size and shape?
Q. Hi. I have to make one big shape out of small shapes that are all the same shape and size for my graphic design class. I was thinking of a tree made with triangles but someone already took it. Any suggestions? Asked by Hello :) - Mon Feb 4 17:55:57 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Hopefully you will understand what I am meaning... can you use those shapes for the background and use the empty spaces for your work of art? In other words, if you want to make a 'tree'... can you make the tree out of your background with those shapes as the borders? [kind of a reverse technique]. Kinda hard when i don't have the shapes to look at and tinker with myself. Best of luck!
