What commercial do you think is easy to memorize?
Q. I need a commercial that is about 30 seconds, that i can memorize in less than a week. The person in the commercial needs to be in the age range 15-19, a female, modern day (no Shakespeer. even though he is great.) and they need to be in front of the camera and talking for the 30 seconds of the commercial. Other people can be in the commercial as well. I need to be able to sit in front of a camera and say the script. and it would be really helpful if you give me the script too.

What speed are commercial planes going when they appear to be hanging in the air?
Q. When I've looked at commercial jetliners that are approaching an airport, they often appear to be just hanging in the air, going only a few miles an hour, if any. How slowly are they actually going? What is the slowest a commercial jetliner can go, and stay aloft?
Asked by BreadCollision - Wed Aug 1 09:51:37 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. the two answers above are right. but i think a small clarification is in order. an aircraft really don't "know" how fast it is going compared to the ground (where you as the observer are). all it cares about is the airspeed (the speed of air flowing over the wings). therefore, if there is a strong headwind or a gust (these can go up to 50km/h) the air speed will remain the same (because the plane flies against the air) but it will look quite slow on the ground. also, there's a bit of an optical illusion involved, especially if you're watching it from a car travelling in the same direction as the plane.

What commercial applications are metalloids used for in society?
Q. I'm having a little difficulty finding the answer. Can anyone help me find out what commercial applications metalloids are used for in society? Metalloids are Boron, Silicon, Germanium, Arsenic, Antimony, Tellurium, and Polonium. How are these used in society?
Asked by meglin ! - Tue Sep 30 11:07:35 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Boron is found in boric acid - a mild antiseptic and insect killer. Silicon is used in computers and other electronics. Germanium is used in fiber optics. Arsenic can be used with gallium in semiconductors, but it is generally used as an insecticide. Antimony is used in Batteries, antifriction alloys, small arms and tracer ammunition, cable sheathing, matches, medicines, antiprotozoan drugs, plumbing, soldering (some "lead-free" solders contain 5% Sb), and a couple of other things. Tellurium is used in ceramics, semiconductors, and blasting caps. Polonium uses are few and far between as it is synthetic. Some uses can be found here:

Which is a better trade to start Commercial Carpenter or Commercial Electrician, or something else? And why?
Q. I'm wanting to get into a good apprenticeship program, in a good field that I can stick with for a long time. Having very little construction experience, I'm having a tough time choosing between a Commercial Carpenter or a Commercial Electrician, or perhaps there is even something out there I don't know of that's better. Could you tell me which you think is better overall, and why? What are the plusses and minuses of each? Thanks.

A. They are both really good trade programs. It depends on your abilities and skills somewhat. It's a little more difficult to get top wages in carpentry. Electricians that work on or around live (hot) hi voltage work tend to get higher pay, but it's a higher risk job.

A. What does it take to be a good commercial pilot? - The best pilots I've flow with have a level head, modest egos, a willingness to learn and a general thirst for knowledge. Is it true that the military is the best way to go for the job? - I have no military experience personally. The only input I have on this matter is by judging the military pilots with whom I have flown. To make a long story short, no. I don't feel that military is the best way to go. It's certainly not a bad way to go, but don't feel like that's how you have to go in order to work as a commercial pilot. What is the lifestyle like, are you always away from home? - I am away from home an average of 2 to 3 nights a week. This is somewhat typical, at least at my stage… [cont.]

Q. I have a retail commercial property. It has 3 store fronts and all three are rented out. I was wondering if I can make extra payments from my personal income toward the property's mortgage and use the interest paid toward lowering my taxable income on my personal income?

A. First things first. You are already paying all of the interest, so any additional payments would be principal reductions, which offer no tax benefit to you. Unless you are a real estate licensee, your rental business constitutes passive income, and you are limited to a maximum of $3,000 in deductions against earned income. All passive income sources are aggregated, so you can deduct a maximum of $3,000 per year, regardless the number of different businesses or properties or activities that count as passive income. Additional losses may be carried back up to three years or forward up to seven years, but are lost forever after that. Paying down principal is probably not in your best financial interest, as it will lower your rate of… [cont.]

Why do some commercial carriers still fly turbo prop planes?
Q. I don't understand why some commercial carriers still use turbo prop planes instead of all jets. What would be the convenience or reason for this? i thought they used regional jets for short hops?
Asked by flyingd - Thu Apr 23 11:00:07 2009 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Turboprops are far more fuel efficient than jets, including regional jets, and on shorter stage lengths there isn't a big time penalty versus the speed of a jet. The crews are also paid less, the maintenance is often less costly, and the purchase price is lower, hence financing costs re less. So on the whole, the cost per seat-mile of turboprop aircraft is very, very attractive to budget-conscious air carriers. And, as another person said, turboprops can use a wider range of airports and runways. The only reason some airlines haven't jumped back into turboprops in a big way is because they cannot afford to make the transition without paying a huge penalty on getting rid of the jets they have, and once their customers become used to… [cont.]

What is the dog commercial with the Keeshond?
Q. I recently saw a commercial that I really want to see again. There's an adorable Keeshond puppy and other dogs... I remember the Keeshond was incredibly fluffy and it was hopping around. I can't remember the dog food brand it was endorsing, but I know they have a series of commercials that are always simple with white backgrounds and just a couple of dogs. I think they might have once had a dog, just eating out of a dog bowl. Their commercials kind of remind me of Telus commercials.

When buying a commercial property - is it usually worse financing conditions than residential?
Q. Hi, Also, is it usually the same mortgage broker doing both residential and commercial or will i most likely have to work with a different mortgage broker than the one dealt with my residential purchases? THANKS.
Asked by Independent_guy - Fri Feb 6 20:58:14 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It is definitely worse financing. The theory is that people will stop paying every other bill before they stop paying the mortgage on the home they live in. The down payment is almost always 20% but can be 50%. The interest rate is at least 1/2% above residential rates. It is not unusual to have the loan due in 5,7,10 years. So it never fully amortizes. It will be a different loan broker..

How much a commercial pilot earns?
Q. wanted to know, what is the average money a pilot earns per day.Think as if the pilot too is of average ability and the airlines he/she works for too is of average quality. And..what is the upper age limit to enroll fo a commercial pilot training course.
Asked by alok n - Fri Jul 20 10:57:04 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Wages vary from commuter to major to freight. A commuter pilot can make $40K+. A major can earn $80K to $250K per year depending on aircraft type, routes, and hours flown. The most successful pilots (in terms of income) start under the age of 25. Seniority plays a major part in bidding your aircraft type, & routes. Of course you can always educate, & train for a new career at anytime in your life as age discrimanation is supposed to be non-existant. The younger you are with a turbine license and a 4 yr degree the the better of you will be when you are at the age of retirement.
