What is a good and interesting nonfiction book to read about early American history?
Q. I have to write a report on a book, and it must be about an occurrence or person in between the the 1400's and 1870's. I really hate history, so if you know any book that is even mildly interesting, please give a title.

A. Consider "Once They Moved Like the Wind--Cochise, Geronimo, and the Apache Wars" by David Roberts. Publisher is Simon & Schuster. The book is an in-depth study of the Apache wars led by Cochise and Geronimo, giving details of the strategies and their results. Little-known facts about Lieutenant Gatewood, the man credited in securing Geronimo's last surrender, is revealed.
